Presentations

 he last 4 classes will be focused on students presentations.

The final grade will be based upon these presentations.

Each student will be given 5 minutes to present their problem and solution with a 5 minute question and answer period.

Dates will be April 1st, 8th, 15^th and 22^nd .

Please prepare accordingly.

Using assignment number 1 provide some approaches

(Technology, Legislation, Education) on how you would provide a solution.

Assignment #1 due 1/29/24

 Please pick two topics that will be used for the class and I'd like to discuss.

The class will focus on issues related to technology on society.

Choose topics like impact of social media in society, how technology is used in spreading misinformation, How to address AI impact on society.

Topics should have a benefit to society.

I'd like everyone to email me topics before class. 

You can change the topic later if you like.

 Attendance is mandatory for this class.

Topic for final presentation can be any subject but must focus on solutions.

Solutions:

Benefit society as a whole

Features -> Child protection - verification of age

Legislation -> rules - data protection Germany 5% - fines $$$ - misinformation

Education -> Parents, students, teachers - campaigns 

Final Presentation

 For the remainder of the classes I want students ready to discuss topics.

No final for this class only a presentation on a solution to any problem related to the topics that you choose.

Attendance will be required for the remaining classes.

Please send me the topics you pick as soon as you can. You can change them for the final presentation, but I'd like to have the class discuss the proposed solutions.

Final assignment and presentation

For the last assignment and end term, I would like everyone to propose solutions to the social media issues we have reviewed.

You are free to propose any solution to any related topic you like.

Same format as the problems, a paper, presentation and power point to present to the class.

Please bring topics that you are interested to class so we can have more open discussions for the remainder of the classes.
